Vocab Unit 13
This year we had an exuberant Easter at my house. My mom's entire side of the family came to our house to celebrate, so the volume was stentorian with all of the people there. No one in my family really has an antipathy for each other, therefore everyone was able to practice decorum. My dad cooked the ham perfectly so there was an infinitesimal amount of fat. We all ate the ham and side dishes, and imbibed various drinks throughout the afternoon. Though harmless, my dog possessed prowess as she militated us to give her people food under the table! There was a brief period after we ate when everyone was sedated from the amount of food consumed! We had a great Easter. Hopefully next year will be a facsimile so it is just as enjoyable.

Vocab Unit 11
With the family spring break vacation booked, we began to plan the itinerary for their trip. I did not care what we did the entire week, as long as I was near the placid ocean. Our condominium is right on the beach; the protruding rocks near the ocean can be seen from my bedroom window. Even though I only pay attention to the superficial parts of the ocean and don't really swim in it, I still love it. The potent waves that hit my legs when I walk on the shoreline are enough salt water for me! I cannot fathom how anyone could not be completely content while laying on the beach. One of my family's favorite things to do on vacation is to eat at little local cafes along the beach. We love being around the endemic people instead of just a bunch of tourists like ourselves. They seem to have a lot more integrity than a lot of people who I have met, probably because they get to be on the beach everyday! I don't think we have ever met any obnoxious people while traveling to Florida. After little to discuss, the itinerary was conclusive; we would be spending this vacation as beach bums.

Vocab Unit 6
As little girls, the two siblings were always venal towards each other. Sarah and Sophia were each others best friend. They played together all day throughout their youth, running rampant while the babysitter tried to watch after them while their mother was at work. Together, the two sistters were deft in their actions. Some of the biggest premeditated tricks that they played came at the most inopportune times. They pushed their parents to the limits, and at times were unfavorable to them, but all in all they were good girls. They had explicit rules to follow, and though they would push their limits, they rarely crossed the line. As the girls got older, and their childhood toys and imaginations grew musty, the girls remained closer than ever. At the end of everyday, it brought them great solace knowing the other sister was always there to lean on. Their relationship was far from ironic; a sister is a best friend who you are born with. That is what Sarah and Sophia were, and always will be. Best friends.

Spotlight
Once a year comes a night of attainment
Exclusive awards are given, the losers may resent
All actors and actresses will attend, whether friends or foe
But winners feel supercilious, and rightfully so
Welcome, to the Academy Awards Exclusive awards are given, the losers may resent
All actors and actresses will attend, whether friends or foe
But winners feel supercilious, and rightfully so
First the limos arrive, down the red carpet to the
spotlight each beauty struts
They act nonchalant, hoping they do not end up in a rut
Each dress is so gorgeous, handpicked for this night
Whoever looks the best will put the others out of sight
You can find the most beautiful people, at the Academy
AwardsThey act nonchalant, hoping they do not end up in a rut
Each dress is so gorgeous, handpicked for this night
Whoever looks the best will put the others out of sight
An uncanny feeling consumes all of the
nominees
If the Academy esteems your film, you shall soon see
The Oscars are not bequeathed, but earned through talented work
If you ascertain you are the winner, you will be invulnerable and enter the stage with a smirk
You are a champion, of the Academy Awards If the Academy esteems your film, you shall soon see
The Oscars are not bequeathed, but earned through talented work
If you ascertain you are the winner, you will be invulnerable and enter the stage with a smirk
Most movies are finite in one’s memory,
forgotten as soon as they’re done
But the best picture of the year will remain in the spotlight as the most popular one
All of the celebrities disperse as the glamorous night comes to an end
The planning for next year now begins, to create a show that has become such a trend
Goodbye for now, from the Academy AwardsBut the best picture of the year will remain in the spotlight as the most popular one
All of the celebrities disperse as the glamorous night comes to an end
The planning for next year now begins, to create a show that has become such a trend

Vocab Week 3
This weekend my dad and I went for a sojourn to Salt Lake City, Utah. I had been musing this trip for a while, so as soon as we got out of the car and looked at the mountains, I felt exhilarated. The weather was a little inclement at first, but once I got used to it I was having a great time. A lot of the runs were harder than what I was used to, but I did not want to seem like a craven. There are signs on the other side of the mountain warning people to not go there, but some people considered these negligible and skied the entire mountain. Skiing the other side has resulted in the demise of numerous people. When a few people take this risk, it becomes a precedent for others. When they venture into the danger side, hopefully the mountain is not feeling punitive! Though we did not go to the dangerous side, I still had one of the best times of my life. It is too bad that our stay in Salt Lake City could not have perpetuated.

Vocab Week 2
The Grammy Awards come around once a year. When a singer receives a Grammy, he or she is being extolled by the entire world who is watching. On the red carpet everyone acts amicable towards each other, but deep down they are fearing the retrogress of their careers. Not receiving a Grammy year after year creates jeopardy for a singer's career. It is feasible that any of the nominees could win the Grammy, but who actually will win is determined by a committee. The committee must scrutinize each performer very closely, and be meticulous about turning in the correct winners. When a winner is announced, the other nominees try their hardest not to make too much of a grimace. The losers try their hardest not to act as if their loss is impervious to them and their careers, but the truth is, the loss will create a powerful impetus to work twice as hard the following year.

Vocab Week 1
The most beautiful girl in the world lives at my house...my dog, Chrissy. Her guise is stunning, even f her fur is slightly unkempt at times. Chrissy certainly has not been bereft of anything in her opulent lifestyle. More than anything, she loves to eat. She gapes at the sight of a delicious meal, and shows great fortitude as she does whatever she is able to get a bite of that food. Her miserable barks give an intimation that cannot be ignored of her desire for a treat. You can reiterate to her, "Stop!" over and over again, but her dour expressions eventually win. At the end of the day though, no matter what mischief Chrissy creates, my love for her always augments more every single day.

Before I could even talk or walk I somehow managed to follow my sister sound. Growing up ten and a half months younger than Olivia, it would have been have been impossible not to look up to her. I have become the person who I am today from the example that she set for me long ago. Whether it was taking the same dance classes as her when we were younger or looking up to the decisions she makes now, the person who has made the most impact on my life is my sister.
Olivia always strives to do her best, and it makes me also want to try to do my best. Physically, she is an extremely talented runner. She has faced injuries from stress fractures to a rare leg disorder. Through all of her struggles, she is always able to return to running faster than before. Mentally, she is even tougher. Nothing can ever get in her way of achieving the things she sets out for. Her determination and passion for sport made me want to be successful in my own running career. Without her, I probably would not have even continued running cross country all four years of high school.
Beyond running, Olivia’s determination carries throughout everything she does. She is currently a student at Denison University. Most students who are freshmen in college do not have motivation that is comparable to my sister’s. She is able to balance school, sports and a social life extremely well. Olivia makes this balancing act seem easy and is constantly joining new activities on campus. She does not let the stress affect her, and continues challenging and pushing herself to new levels daily. Watching her success in college gives me the drive to want to succeed just like she is. She pushes me to do as well as she does, even if that means a little bit of competition between us. Olivia has made me the driven, motivated person who I am just from leading by example.
Olivia always knows what to say if I am ever having a problem with school or anything in my life. Without a doubt she is the one person who I can trust with anything. I always look to her for advice. Before she went away to college, we would sometimes sit in her room for hours talking about anything and everything. There was never a dull moment at home, because we always had each other to talk with. Now that she is away at school, I can call her at any time of the day and she will always make the time to talk to her little sister. It is not a chore for her to help me, even if it is not the most convenient time for her. The value Olivia places on her family and other relationships is one of the characteristics that I have admired about her for my entire life. She is constantly thinking of others. Olivia always does what she can to assist people in any given situation, even if that means helping a complete stranger. My sister has influenced me to be the caring person who I am today, and to do whatever I can to help people.
My sister, Olivia, is the person who has made the greatest impact on my life. I have looked up to her for longer than I can remember. She has shaped me into the person I am from being an example to follow and a shoulder for me to cry on. Olivia has influenced me by her hardworking ways, determination and caring attitude. Without my sister, I would not be the person who I am today.
